View slowly rotates back to original camera position

Postby Tone » Tue May 04, 2004 7:54 pm

How do I make the 3D object rotate back to the original camera position?

For example, when the file is loaded, the original position is the object facing you. Then once the user interacts with it (rotates it - only), and the user lets go of the mouse button, the object slowly rotates back to the original position. Any ideas?

1. Go to 3D Scene > Camera tab

2. Select your default camera.

3. In the Camera animation section, make sure the Enable checkbox is marked.

4. Close the 3D Scene dialog.

5. Connect 3D Scene > Out-ports > Mouse Events > Mouse Release
to
3D Scene > In-ports > Camera > Set "name"

Done! As soon as the user releases the mouse button it will trigger the Set Camera in-port.

You might want/need to set the speed for the animation Camera animation section.

Was this what you had in mind?

Exactly what I wanted... another Q to expound

Postby Tone » Fri May 07, 2004 12:38 am

Stefano, that was exactly what I wanted to do. However, I find that when the mouse is realeased and when the objects view goes back to the original view, I won't be able to interact with it. How can I work this?
