Contour Render

Postby chasquash » Wed Dec 08, 2004 9:44 am

Hi.
I'm currently evaluating Wire Fusion and i found very interesting that there is a contour render.
I've tried to apply it to a scene, tryng to get a "cartoon" effect (contours with solid fills), but i'm having some visualization problems:
-The solid faces don't cover all the objects behind them, actually, they get partially covered, it looks like the objects intersect and part of the objects that are in the back intersect with the ones on the front (even though the geometries are close to each other but don't intersect at all)
-3. Only when i zoom in, the solid fills seem to work, and hide the objects that are behind.
-I also noticed that when i imported the same scene with a different scale (say, 100 times larger), after zooming out to see all the objects, the solid faces just did'n cover anything, and looked like it was totally transparent

Is this a bug? Will it get fixed?
Or, i'm just not considering some parameters?

I also want to know if i can combine the contour render with some gouraud or phong shading on the same object

Thanks, I hope you can help me with this

We are looking into replacing the Contour renderer with a new one that would fix those issues.
